The investigation into a fatal plane crash in Prince George isn’t even 24 hours old, and already there seems to be a few facts about the Beechcraft 200 Super King aircraft that is raising a few eyebrows.
According to a report from the Aviation Safety Network, the plane was involved in another emergency landing in January 2024.
The report states the aircraft experienced a loss of pressurization while performing a medical evacuation flight from Phoenix to Kelowna.
Five people were on board the plane, which consisted of both flight crew members along with three passengers.
The flight crew landed the aircraft safely at Kelowna Airport.
At the time of the incident, Upper Valley Aviation Limited was the owner of the plane.
Sekani Air became the aircraft’s registered owner in October of 2025. The plane was manufactured in 1980.
On Thursday, the plane performed an emergency landing on Foothills Boulevard with eight people on board according to the PG RCMP.
The aircraft subsequently made contact with two vehicles. Police later confirmed an occupant from one of the vehicles passed away.
The incident shut down Foothills Boulevard in both directions. A team of investigators with the Transportation Safety Board are in Prince George today (Friday) and have assumed conduct of the file.
B.C. Public Safety Minister and Solicitor General Nina Krieger reacted to the crash on social media:
