Fort St John gets ready to giddy up

The North Peace Rodeo is returning to Fort St John for the first time in over five years.

Events will kick off tomorrow at the North Peace Light Horse Association Rodeo Grounds, where it will continue until Sunday night.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on the weekend. The opening ceremony on Friday will be at 6 and performances will start at 1 on both weekend afternoons.

Rodeo-goers can expect all-time favourites with bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing and other events to take place over the three-days.

Additional events, such as a wild pony race, may be available for an additional fee.

It will be an open rodeo, meaning it is open to people regardless of their skill level. There will also be events, like the calf scramble, for children to participate in.

More information can be found on the North Peace Rodeo Facebook page.
