Police seek public’s help in finding man wanted for assault and 8 counts of theft

The RCMP in Fort St John is requesting residents keep their eyes peeled for Shayne Steve Karey, a man who is wanted on several pending charges, including assault and eight counts of theft.

Karey is wanted by the force because of his outstanding warrants for eight theft charges, assault, possession of stolen property, and breach of undertaking – this crime occurs when the accused does not abide by a court order or other legal obligation.

He is described by police as Caucasian with wavy black hair, brown eyes, and brown stubble. They said the 42-year-old is 6 feet tall and 174 lbs.

Police said their investigations into Karey’s pending charges are ongoing and anyone with information on his whereabouts, or the actions he is accused of, is asked to contact their local detachment. Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers’ phone line or northern B.C. website.
