Fort St John RCMP seek witnesses of downtown daylight assault

A man was assaulted in downtown Fort St John and Mounties are asking for witnesses and anyone with footage of the incident to come forward.

The RCMP said they “received a report of a man who had been assaulted near the intersection of 99th Avenue and 98th Street,” and when officers arrived at the scene a man with serious injuries was transported to Fort St John Hospital.

According to police, responding officers saw the man had injuries on his face and was laying on the sidewalk, but they could not locate the assailant or assailants.

Now, they are calling on any members of the public with information, or dashcam footage, of the incident to contact their local detachment as investigations are ongoing.
