Police seek identity of man suspected of breaking into a Fort St John apartment

The RCMP are looking for a man they suspect broke into an apartment near Northern Lights College’s Fort St John campus.

Officers attended the scene on the afternoon of Sept 22. Based on surveillance footage, Mounties described him as Caucasian, 30-35 years old, clean-shaven, between 5 feet 9 and 5 feet 11 tall, and around 180 lbs.

In a photo of him provided by the police, he was wearing tan-coloured pants, a dark hoodie, and a light cap with a white logo.

He is believed to have ties to the Prince George area.

Breaking and entering charges are laid in Canada if the RCMP can prove the man broke in without permission and had the intention of committing another crime. The severity of the punishment applied can vary, depending on the value of items taken, if any.

Fort St John’s RCMP force said their investigations are ongoing and asked anyone with information on the break in to contact their detachment. To submit information anonymously, residents can contact Crime Stoppers.
