Mounties said they responded to a call early Friday after receiving a report of shots fired in what they believe was a targeted shooting.
When officers entered the home at the 9600 block of 96 Avenue, they found four people, none of whom were injured. Police said they had initially responded to a report of gunfire in the area but were unsure where the shooter or shooters were located.
“Evidence quickly located in keeping with gun fire and through an investigation, police learned that there had been an exchange of gun fire at a residence in the area,” said the RCMP, describing the Oct. 24 incident.
While inside the home, Mounties said they noted firearms and firearm paraphernalia, though the police did not elaborate on the equipment located with the guns. The four people in the home were arrested for weapons related offences after officers confirmed they were not injured.
Police said they will remain in the area to conduct further investigation into the shooting, which they believe may have been targeted. Officers alleged the incident could be linked to gang or drug activity in the city.
