Road closures scheduled ahead of Christmas tree delivery in Dawson Creek

Some streets in Dawson Creek will be closed on Sunday, Nov. 16, as the city’s Christmas tree is delivered and decorated downtown.

According to the city, the closures will be in place from 8 a.m. until noon for setup. Drivers can expect sections of 10 Street and 102 Avenue to be closed.

“The tree will be moved from 1201 115 Avenue, north along 13 Street and 10 Street, and will finish at 102 Avenue,” the city explained. “Please plan ahead and watch for crews in the area during this time.”

The Christmas tree will be located at its usual spot, the Mile Zero marker for the Alaska Highway on 10 Street. Dawson Creek’s rotary club will light the tree up at their annual light up the following Friday, Nov. 21.
