Taylor Bridge to be closed overnight on Friday

Drivers along the Peace River Taylor Bridge will see single lane traffic on Friday night, as scheduled work takes place until early Saturday morning.

The connector over the Peace River will be closed from 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, until 3:30 a.m. on Saturday. Drive BC said the closure is for planned “bridge maintenance.”

It will be closed until McMahon Drive, which is less than a kilometre away.

“Single lane alternating traffic will be in effect. Overweight and oversized loads exceeding 3.85 (metres) in width will not be able to cross during this window,” the provincial traffic monitor said.

It is designated a “minor” event as the closure will be overnight on a Friday, but drivers should give themselves extra time if they plan on passing through the Peace.
