Eight arrested after loaded gun, drugs, and cash found in mobile home park

Eight people were arrested after Mounties searched a residence at a mobile home park in Fort St. John and seized a loaded pistol, drugs, cash and stolen property.

The arrests came after officers executed a search warrant at the Peace Country Mobile Home Park, which is “known to police and has generated multiple calls for service over the past year,” said the city’s RCMP detachment.

“Officers located and seized a loaded pistol, drugs, currency and thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen tools. The tools are believed to have been stolen from the Fort St John area and officers are attempting to identify the owners,” the RCMP said.

One woman remains in custody in connection with the search, which Mounties said is related to a breach of court-ordered conditions. Seven other individuals were released pending further investigation.

“The other individuals were subsequently released from custody pending the completion of the investigation and determination of appropriate charges,” explained the police.

As the investigation is ongoing, charges have not yet been laid.
