Team Canada undefeated ahead of Day 3 at Para Cup in Dawson Creek

Team Canada is 2-0 as the Para Hockey Cup prepares to enter its third day of competition.

Canadian para hockey players defeated China, 7-0, and the Czech Republic 3-1 on home turf in Dawson Creek.

When action returns tomorrow, they will face off against the also undefeated in regulation American team. Wednesday will be the final day of preliminary action before a daylong break, then the semifinals will begin.

All four teams will hit the ice on Friday, though the order has not yet been determined. Hockey Canada has all the day’s games listed as “TBD,” or to be determined.

This tournament will come to an end on Saturday, with the gold medal game scheduled for six at night. Winners from Friday’s semifinals will play against each other, as will the losers for bronze. The lowest medal will be determined earlier in the day, with the puck set to drop at 2 p.m.

All 10 games are being played at the Ovintiv Events Centre in northeastern B.C. The venue announced in March it would host the Olympic qualifier.
