Two children killed, three injured in UTV rollover near Pouce Coupe

Two children died and three others were injured after a utility terrain vehicle rolled over near Pouce Coupe last week.
Dawson Creek RCMP said officers responded to a report of a crash in the 13,700 block of 207 Road on June 4 shortly after 1 p.m.
Police said five young children were travelling in the side-by-side when the driver lost control. The vehicle then rolled multiple times.
An eight-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene. A seven-year-old girl, who was operating the vehicle, was airlifted to hospital in critical condition. Police say she later died from her injuries.
The three other children suffered minor injuries.
In a statement, Staff Sgt. Kris Clark of the BC RCMP expressed condolences to those affected by the tragedy.
“As a parent, I cannot fathom the unimaginable and tragic loss these families have suffered,” Clark said. “Our hearts go out to everyone who was impacted by this unthinkable event.”
The cause of the crash has not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
