Chetwynd RCMP ask for public assistance in locating missing assault victim

Mounties in Chetwynd are asking Peace region residents to keep an eye out for Harmony Brown-Desjarlais, a missing 30-year-old woman from Chetwynd.

After she reported being assaulted to police on Aug. 21, Brown-Desjarlais headed to a local hospital, but according to the RCMP, despite springing into action after being notified of the assault and her plans to seek medical attention, they have not been able to locate the missing woman.

“Police believe that (Brown-Desjarlais) may have been in contact with her family and friends through social media, but police have not been able to reach her to confirm her wellbeing,” said Chetwynd’s police force.

She is described by officers as an Indigenous female who is 5 foot 3 and 115 lbs., with brown hair and brown eyes.

Officers said the missing woman may be in the Chetwynd, Fort St John, or Dawson Creek area.

Anyone with information as to where Brown-Desjarlais may be is asked to contact Chetwynd’s RCMP detachment, which services the district of Chetwynd, its surrounding areas, and Moberly Lake.
