All area restrictions were rescinded as the Kiskatinaw River Wildfire continues shrinking

The area restrictions in the south Peace stemming from this summer’s Kiskatinaw River Wildfire have officially all been rescinded.  

Get fired up! Category one campfires are allowed in the northeast

As the weather cools, residents in the Peace and Northern Rockies can stay warm with a campfire as category one fires are now permitted in the northeast.  

Loosening fire restrictions not applicable in Peace and Fort Nelson fire districts

Restrictions on fires were loosened in some areas of the Prince George Fire Centre but will remain in place in the Peace and Fort Nelson fire districts.  

Bluff Creek fire under control, but air quality warning remains for south Peace residents

The B.C. Wildfire Service said the 19 hectare wildfire that broke out in Bluff Creek, near Chetwynd, is now being held.

A wildfire burning in Bluff Creek, near Chetwynd, is now considered out of control by the provincial wildfire service as crews continue to try to fight the flames.

Residents in the Dawson Creek fire zone have fewer restrictions on how far they can travel northward after a weekend of cool weather.
