District of Taylor is looking for parade entries ahead of World’s Invitational Gold Panning Championships

The District of Taylor is inviting residents, businesses and community groups to help celebrate this year’s World’s Invitational Gold Panning Championships by taking part in the annual parade.

The district is looking for entries ahead of the July 31 event, encouraging people to bring their creativity to the parade route. Participants can enter a float, decorated vehicle, quad, piece of equipment, horseback entry or other animal entry.

Businesses, organizations, sports teams, families and groups of friends are also encouraged to join in the celebration.

In a July 7 social media post, the District of Taylor said community participation helps keep the longtime tradition going and encourages residents to come out and enjoy the event.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. on July 31, with participants asked to marshal at the Taylor Arena parking lot starting at 5 p.m.

Entry into the parade is free.

Those interested in participating can register or learn more by contacting Taylor’s Community Services department at 250-789-2828.
