Traffic circle maintenance planned near Fort St. John Airport

Drivers near the Fort St. John Airport can expect traffic disruptions this week as maintenance work takes place at a nearby traffic circle.

Dawson Road Maintenance will carry out work at the intersection of Airport Road, also known as Old Cecil Lake Road and 103A, and 259 Road, or Swanson Lumber Road.

The work is scheduled from Monday to Friday, Aug. 21, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day.

Crews will remove existing material from the centre of the traffic circle and replace it with low shrubs, other vegetation and drainage rock.

Traffic control measures, including automated flagger assistance devices, will be in place throughout the work.

Drivers may experience delays of up to 20 minutes while trucks are being loaded, and loading zones will be closed during those periods.

Larger commercial vehicles with trailers and oversize loads will also be restricted from entering the portion of the traffic circle where gravel trucks are stationed or loading.
