Fort St. John Councillor Sarah MacDougall announces re-election bid

Fort St. John Councillor Sarah MacDougall says she is ready to keep working for the community, announcing she will seek a second term in the upcoming municipal election.

MacDougall made the announcement after reflecting on her first four years on council and the work she has been involved in during her first term.

She said the experience has reinforced her desire to continue serving the community she calls home.

MacDougall said she is proud of what council has accomplished over the past four years but believes there is still more work to be done and opportunities ahead for Fort St. John.

She said the experience gained during her first term, along with her professional and community background, would allow her to continue contributing at the council table.

MacDougall also thanked residents for placing their trust in her during the last election and said she is asking for that trust again.

She said serving Fort St. John has been both an honour and a responsibility she does not take lightly.

If re-elected, MacDougall said she wants to continue listening to residents, bringing people together and working collaboratively to help the community move forward.

The 2026 municipal election is scheduled for Oct. 17, with the nomination period running from Sept. 1 to 11.
