Oktoberfest bringing beer, live music and games to Charlie Lake

Grab your lederhosen and get ready for a few days of beer, live music and games in Charlie Lake.

The Historic Red Barn Pub & Grill is bringing back its Oktoberfest celebration, with three days of adult-only festivities planned for Sept. 24 to 27.

The event will take over the pub’s ball diamond, with activities getting underway at 4 p.m. each day.

Visitors can expect beer gardens, live entertainment, games, giveaways and a vendor market throughout the celebration.

The event is open to people 19 and older, with day passes priced at $20. Those looking to take in the full event can purchase a three-day pass for $55.

Live music will run from 7 to 10 p.m. each night.

Fort St. John-based Locust and Honey will kick things off Sept. 24, followed by Outlaw Orchestra on Sept. 25. Local rock band Blackbird will close out the festivities with a performance Sept. 27.

The event’s location also puts attendees close to several camping options in the area, giving those who want to make a weekend of it the option to camp nearby.

The pub will continue operating during its regular hours of 2 to 11 p.m. throughout Oktoberfest, with German-inspired dishes available during the festivities.
