South Peace River listings rise as sales decline in May

Homebuyers in the South Peace River region had more properties to choose from in May as new listings climbed sharply compared with a year ago, according to the Association of Interior Realtors.

The region recorded 34 residential sales in May, down 19 per cent from the same month last year but up from 27 sales in April.

New listings increased 25.4 per cent year over year, with 79 properties coming onto the market during the month.

Despite the increase in new listings, active inventory remained below year-ago levels. The South Peace River region had 198 active residential listings in May, a seven per cent decrease compared with May 2025.

Association of Interior Realtors president Ryan Mayne said the market continues to absorb new supply.

“Inventory levels in the South Peace region have shown encouraging growth, giving buyers more options than they had previously. However, despite these gains, overall supply remains somewhat constrained, suggesting that new listings are continuing to be welcomed by the market and absorbed at a healthy pace,” said Mayne.

Home prices were mixed across property types.

The average price of a single-family home rose 6.7 per cent from a year earlier to $350,125. The average price of a mobile home increased 73 per cent to $357,500, while the average condominium price fell 43.8 per cent to $83,500.
