From Fort St. John to Toronto

A dream years in the making became reality Thursday night for Brooke Disher.

The Fort St. John product was selected by the Toronto Sceptres in the third round, 32nd overall, of the Professional Women’s Hockey League draft in Detroit.

The 21-year-old spent the past four seasons in the NCAA, splitting her time between the Boston University Terriers and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Cecil Lake goaltender Alexandra Lehmann, who spent last season with the Nipissing Lakers, was not selected in the draft.

Colby Wilson, of Fort St. James, B.C., also went undrafted after a six-year career with the Saskatchewan Huskies.
