The Dawson Creek RCMP is investigating a pair of bank robberies which occurred just days apart.
Mounties received a report of a bank robbery at the RBC Branch located at 10324 10th Street at 5:36 p.m. on Friday.
Police say a suspect entered through the East facing doors while wearing a black, full-face motorcycle helmet, black jacket, pants and gloves, with a ski mask and sunglasses on underneath the helmet.
The suspect allegedly brandished a weapon and demanded cash, before ultimately fleeing the area on a scooter with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police could not immediately locate the suspect.
Yesterday (Tuesday) at 11:06 a.m., the RCMP received another report of a bank robbery, this time at the Scotia Bank located at 10204 10th Street.
According to police, the suspect was wearing a gray long sleeve shirt, a hat, black pants, face mask, sunglasses, and black gloves, and allegedly brandished a weapon and demanded cash as well.
The suspect also fled the area on a scooter with an undisclosed amount of cash, and was not located by police either.
“The suspects are believed to be male, although no other descriptors are available,” said BC RCMP Staff Sergeant Kris Clark. “While the investigations remain in the early stages, police are working to determine whether there is any connection between the two cases.”
Police say no one was physically injured during either event.
Anyone with more information, CCTV or dash camera video is asked to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP.
