McMahon Gas Plant temporary shutdown to bring increased flaring and traffic near Taylor

Residents near Taylor can expect increased activity and flaring over the next month as the McMahon Gas Plant shuts down for scheduled maintenance.

NorthRiver Midstream said the plant will shut down from Sept. 8 to Oct. 8 for routine maintenance and regulatory inspections.

The company said the work is needed to support the plant’s long-term safety and regulatory compliance.

NorthRiver said residents may notice increased flaring, bus traffic and personnel around the site during the shutdown.

Residents with questions or concerns can contact NorthRiver’s Indigenous and Community Relations team at icr@nrm.ca.
