South Peace Search and Rescue invites community members to recruitment night

South Peace Search and Rescue is inviting community members to learn more about volunteering and the skills needed to help people in emergencies.

The group is hosting a recruitment night on Wednesday, Nov. 25, giving people a chance to meet its team, ask questions and find out what being a search and rescue volunteer involves.

No previous search and rescue experience or outdoor expertise is required, as training is provided. Organizers say volunteers with different skills, strengths and backgrounds can all play a role.

The event is open to anyone interested in getting involved, as well as those who simply want to learn more. Attending does not require a commitment to volunteer.

Recruitment night begins at 7 p.m. at South Peace Search and Rescue, located at 7277 Highway 97 in Dawson Creek.

More information is available through South Peace Search and Rescue’s social media channels.
