A veterinary clinic in Dawson Creek is being recognized on the national stage for its work across the Peace Region.
The Dawson Creek Veterinary Clinic has been named Practice of the Year by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, an award that highlights excellence in veterinary care, community involvement and overall service.
The honour was presented at the 2026 CVMA Convention, where the clinic stood out among practices from across the country.
According to the association, the award recognizes veterinary teams that demonstrate strong standards of care, innovation in their services, and a commitment to supporting both clients and staff well-being.
Locally, the clinic plays a key role in the region, providing care not only for household pets, but also for livestock across a largely rural and agriculture-driven area. It also serves some communities in neighbouring Alberta.
“We are incredibly honoured to receive this award. We are grateful to be able to serve the region and all wonder clients we get to meet,” said staff at the clinic.
The CVMA award is handed out annually to a practice that shows outstanding achievement in its field and its community impact.
For residents across the Peace Region, the recognition highlights just how essential local veterinary services are—especially in areas where agriculture and rural living remain a major part of daily life.
