Northern Health looking for food service provider for new Dawson Creek hospital

Northern Health is looking for a food and beverage operator to run the café at the new Dawson Creek and District Hospital.

The health authority issued a request for proposals on July 6, inviting qualified businesses to submit bids to operate the hospital’s retail food and beverage space.

The successful contractor will provide café services for hospital staff, patients’ visitors and members of the public from a roughly 75-square-metre space located near the facility’s main entrance.

Northern Health said the café is being designed as a high-efficiency, grab-and-go service area intended to handle a high volume of customers during busy periods.

Businesses interested in submitting a proposal must provide a completed submission form, proof of FoodSafe Level 1 certification and any other documents required through the request for proposal process.

Questions about the proposal are due by July 22, with final submissions required by 2 p.m. on July 31.

Proposals must be submitted as a PDF to Chelsey.Yaremichuk@northernhealth.ca and labelled “DCDH Retail Food and Beverage Services – RFP.”

Northern Health said the opportunity is open to qualified businesses interested in becoming part of the new Dawson Creek and District Hospital and serving the local community.
