Residents at a Fort St. John seniors’ community are hoping the community will come out and support their upcoming fundraiser aimed at helping keep housing costs affordable.
The event, taking place Friday, will feature a barbecue with residents firing up the grill to raise money to help keep rents low for seniors living in the community.
In a Facebook post, Organizers said the fundraiser will go ahead rain or shine, with the focus remaining on supporting local seniors and recognizing the hard work residents have put into making the event happen.
“We hope to get a lot of sales to raise money to keep rents low for our seniors,” organizers said.
The event is also an opportunity for the community to come together and show support for the residents who have helped organize and prepare for the fundraiser.
Organizers are encouraging people in Fort St. John to stop by, grab some food and help contribute to a cause that directly supports local seniors.
Every bit of support makes a difference and are looking forward to seeing the community show up.
