Dawson Creek seeks group to lead new Community Situation Table

The City of Dawson Creek is looking for an organization to help bring a new community safety initiative to life.

The initiative would bring together organizations from a range of sectors, including public safety, health, social services, education, housing, Indigenous organizations and other community agencies.

The goal is to identify people or families facing an acutely elevated level of risk and connect them with appropriate supports before their circumstances escalate into a crisis.

Rather than having agencies work separately, the Community Situation Table would provide a forum for partners to collaborate and coordinate their response to complex situations.

The city said organizations with experience in multi-agency collaboration, community safety and well-being or coordinated service delivery are encouraged to apply.

Interested organizations must submit their expressions of interest by 2 p.m. on Sept. 3.

The initiative is intended to strengthen connections between local services and help residents access support earlier, before they reach a point where emergency intervention is required.
