Emergency services at the Hudson’s Hope Health Centre will remain unavailable for the rest of the week due to ongoing staffing challenges.
Northern Health said the emergency department is expected to reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 8:30 a.m.
The latest update from the health authority said the closure will last 22.5 hours, while the health centre will continue operating during its regular weekday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
Northern Health said the service disruption is linked to staffing issues previously identified by the health authority.
“The health centre’s emergency care services are expected to resume [on] Tuesday, Sept. 8,” Northern Health said.
This is the latest in a series of temporary ER closures in Hudson’s Hope. The department was previously closed from Aug. 21 through Aug. 31 because of staffing challenges.
Northern Health is reminding residents who require emergency medical care while the department is closed to call 911.
BC Emergency Health Services can then arrange transportation to the nearest hospital with emergency services available.
The health authority said residents should continue to call 911 for emergencies during the service interruption.
