Taylor Bridge to undergo overnight maintenance throughout October

Drivers using the Taylor Bridge should expect delays this month as seasonal maintenance work gets underway.

Dawson Road Maintenance will carry out its fall maintenance program on the bridge from Oct. 5 to Oct. 30.

Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.

During those overnight hours, traffic will be reduced to a single alternating lane controlled by a pilot car.

Drivers are being asked to plan for delays and, where possible, avoid travelling across the bridge between 7 p.m. and 3:30 a.m.

Overweight and oversized vehicles wider than 3.85 metres, or about 12.6 feet, will have to wait until after 3:30 a.m. to cross the bridge.

Dawson Road Maintenance is advising commercial drivers with questions or concerns to contact Bridge Superintendent Angie Crawford at 250-262-2600.

The contractor says stakeholders will be notified if there are any changes to the maintenance schedule.

Drivers are also encouraged to check DriveBC for the latest updates before travelling.
