Update: The man sought by police in connection with an alleged home invasion that occurred on October 27 has been identified and taken into custody.
Fort St. John RCMP have identified a suspect in a home invasion that happened late Tuesday night.
Police said they received a report around 11 p.m. on Oct. 27 about a home invasion in the 8900-block of 87 Street.
The incident prompted a search for a man who allegedly entered a residence after following one of the female residents home. Police previously said the man returned to the home after initially being scared off and sexually assaulted a second resident before fleeing again.

RCMP said a suspect has now been identified through the investigation, but officers continue to seek information from the public.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his mid-30s who is tall and heavier-set, with facial hair. He was reportedly wearing black pants, a black hoodie and a hat at the time of the incident.
Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact the Fort St. John RCMP.
The investigation remains ongoing.
